At Buxton, we believe our strength is in our staff, we have an excellent retention rate with a large percentage of current employees having worked for us for many years.
We enjoy a varied social calender including charity events, curry evenings, go-karting, mountain biking, skiing, cricket and our annual Christmas party held in London is always a big hit.
David started his career as an assistant site engineer with a national contractor working in the London market. Having worked his way through the ranks over the past 30 years, David's experience and development has provided him with a practical and logical working knowledge of significant construction types on varied schemes spanning modern methods of construction through to sensitive conservation.
This has provided a strong foundation for a Managing Director who provides proactive solutions to real time challenges with an enigmatic and excellent motivational management style.
When away from work David is kept busy attempting to manage three teenage children, and is called upon as unpaid chauffeur and social secretary but wouldn’t have it any other way. He also has an unhealthy interest in DIY.
Buxton believe that charitable giving is a powerful aid for driving social equality and enables the company to open a meaningful dialogue with our stakeholders about our social values, in order to achieve positive change.
We are proud to employ some of the most dedicated people who work hard to improve our communities, we celebrate those who excel both in their careers and in the communities in which they serve.

At Buxton, we believe our strength is in our staff. This is why we operate a full and varied training programme available to our staff and subcontractors. A great number of our staff have remained at Buxton for many years, taking full advantage of our systems of continuous development. Staff are encouraged to undertake any training that can help them realise their full potential.
Our preferred method of recruitment is to employ graduates straight out of study, this way we can train them from grassroots level and develop a committed and vibrant workforce. When recruiting graduates, if required, we offer them the option of part-time study and sandwich courses to aid their development.
Please feel free to send us your CV, however please note as a main contractor we do not employ direct trades and labour.
