We are delighted to have been awarded a new partnership housing project in Weston Street - Southwark, following a successful two stage tender process.
Bell Phillips Architects have been working closely with the local residents who have formed the Leathermarket Community Benefit Society.
For over two years they have been working to design twenty-seven high quality affordable flats and maisonettes that the community can be proud of.
The building has been designed to offer maximum daylight and has a number of eco features to the Footprint standard, including enhanced building fabric, combined heat and power boilers, photo voltaic panels on the seventh storey tower and a green roof on the fifth. The two reinforced concrete towers are connected by a three storey link building of maisonettes with rooftop communal terrace.
The £7.5m project has now received full planning permission and is due to start at the end of November 2016 for a 78 week duration.
