Buxton Framework Success

Buxton are delighted to announce our appointment to SCF (Southern Construction Framework) Residential in London and the South East, following a competitive tender process that was ultimately evaluated on quality and price. SCF is a leading construction procurement framework delivered by the public sector for the public sector in the South of England, and today announced the successful bidders for its new £5.16bn Residential Delivery & Development Framework.

SCF Residential is a four-year framework available to all public bodies in the South East, London, and the South West. It gives them access to market-leading firms and has been designed to be flexible and responsive to industry pressures, including carbon, MMC, and the ongoing housing crisis.

Through SCF Residential, public sector organisations can now access a full range of residential construction and development solutions. This includes access to leading local housebuilders; traditional contract or design and build and turnkey end-to-end development, construction, and management services. A commitment to providing a trustworthy, equitable, and ethical vehicle for delivery underpins the framework.

SCF Residential will be tailored to suit a wide range of projects, including those of smaller value projects (10-75 units) delivered in 7 sub lot regions, focused on local delivery.

SCF is the market leader in Two-Stage Open Book tendering, under which the framework will operate exclusively. This Government-recommended bidding process is part of an initiative to reform UK construction practices and is unique in the way it brings the contractor, stakeholders, and suppliers together at the very start of a construction project.

Matthew Elliott, SCF Senior Framework Manager said: “The successful bidders offer public sector organisations a fantastic breadth of experience and expertise ideally tuned to the needs of the current housing market. We have built this framework around our ethos and practice of collaboration, transparency, and added value, with a focus on social value and supporting carbon and environmental impacts”.

David Norman, Managing Director at Buxton Building Contractors said: “We are pleased to have been awarded a place on the Southern Construction Framework and look forward to working in a way that has client focus, innovation, and social value at its heart”.
