Buxton Building Contractors is honored to be part of the transformative project at The Grove, a former rectory and one of the 'Three Great Houses of Carshalton.' The Grove, originally built in the 1820s, holds a significant place in the heart of the Carshalton Village Conservation Area, with its large grounds offering picturesque views of the Wandle River.
This locally listed building, which also served more recently as Sutton Council offices, is being thoughtfully designed by Curl la Tourelle Architects and carefully adapted into 10 new homes for Sutton Living.
Our work on this project involves a careful approach to preserving the historical character of The Grove. We aim to respect the house's rich history while introducing new elements that fit with the original Victorian style. The result will be a blend of old and new, ensuring The Grove remains a valued landmark within the community for generations to come.
