#ThrowbackThursday to three years ago, when we began restoring the internal decorations of the nave at All Saints Church in Fleet.

The work involved protecting what remained of the original artwork with a removable base coat, then reinstating the original designs using heritage paints. It’s a slow and detailed process, but the end result is worth it.

The Grade II* listed church, designed by celebrated Victorian architect William Burges and built in 1861–62, was severely damaged by an arson attack in 2015, losing its entire roof and much of its interior.

We’re proud to have played a part in its restoration as principal contractor, working alongside specialist subcontractor Cliveden Conservation on the heritage finishes.
