Buxton delivered the full design and build reconstruction of 63–86 Rowe Court in Reading, a project of major importance to the local community following the arson attack that destroyed the original building. Working closely with Regis Group, Wimshurst Pelleriti and Oander, the scheme provided 24 new high-quality apartments, designed to meet current safety, accessibility and building standards. The new four-storey building is formed around a steel frame structure with a robust masonry façade, giving the development a strong, durable presence within the surrounding neighbourhood. Sustainable landscaping and modern infrastructure were incorporated throughout the scheme, improving both the environmental performance and long-term usability of the site. Careful planning and coordination were required to deliver a development that responded sensitively to the history of the site while providing residents with safe, comfortable, modern homes. The completed scheme has helped restore confidence in the area, providing much-needed housing and supporting the regeneration of the local community. This project demonstrates Buxton’s ability to deliver complex residential schemes through strong collaboration, quality construction and a people-focused approach.
