Buxton delivered the refurbishment of a Grade II listed period building at Gower Street, transforming it into high quality student accommodation while preserving its historic character. The works included full strip out and renewal of all incoming services, with comprehensive mechanical and electrical installations, new sanitary fittings and high-quality internal finishes throughout. The scheme created six one-bedroom apartments across the upper floors and two two-bedroom apartments at lower ground level. Extensive repairs were carried out to the building envelope, alongside structural repairs to masonry walls, floors and staircases, ensuring long-term integrity of the historic fabric. The project demonstrates Buxton’s experience in adapting listed buildings for modern residential use, delivering compliant, functional accommodation within a sensitive heritage environment.
