Buxton was appointed to deliver a second project at Holy Trinity Church, a Grade II listed building located within a conservation area. The scheme focused on improving accommodation while carrying out sensitive conservation and refurbishment works to support the church’s long-term use.
The works included interior reordering, new flooring with raised areas, new partitions and doors, cleaning and redecoration, and the careful relocation of the 1929 font as part of the revised layout. Specialist joinery was provided throughout.
As part of the conservation programme, Buxton carried out repairs to the historic roof rafters, strengthening existing timbers while retaining original fabric. External works included stone repairs, new Yorkstone paving and steps, boundary walls, drainage and wider landscaping improvements.
The project also involved specialist mechanical and electrical works, including new services and toilets, upgrading the building while remaining sympathetic to its heritage fabric.
During the programme, the community hub remained operational, continuing to support local activities and bookings, while works were carefully managed within the main church building. Buxton worked flexibly around live use of the wider site, successfully accommodating late design changes and controlling programme impact.
Client feedback highlighted Buxton’s proactive communication, flexibility and collaborative approach, recognising the quality of the completed works and positive response from users.
