Buxton delivered a commercial refurbishment and structural alteration project on Kennington Park Road in the London Borough of Lambeth, on behalf of the Health and Care Professions Council. The site sits on a busy red route, creating significant access and logistical challenges throughout the works. The project began with a full strip-out and partial demolition of the existing building. This was followed by structural alterations, including the formation of new openings and the installation of new steelwork and lintels to support the reconfigured internal layout. Externally, the façade was refurbished, windows replaced, and new roof coverings installed to improve performance and weathering. Internally, new mechanical and electrical services were installed throughout, modernising the building for its future use. Working on a heavily trafficked red route required detailed planning and strict control of deliveries and site access. Vehicle movements were carefully scheduled to minimise disruption to traffic, pedestrians, and neighbouring businesses, with close coordination with local authorities where required. This project demonstrates Buxton’s ability to deliver complex refurbishment works in challenging urban environments, combining structural alterations, services upgrades, and disciplined site management.
