Buxton were delighted to be appointed to deliver the Memorial Park Improvement Project in Redhill, enhancing this well-used community space with a range of upgraded facilities. The scheme included the construction of a new café pavilion with toilets and outdoor seating, providing a welcoming hub for park visitors. The children’s play area was repositioned to a more central location and refreshed with new equipment to create a safer, more engaging space for families. A sports zone was introduced, with improvements to existing tennis court facilities and the multi-use games area to support a wider range of recreational activities. Trim trails and a walking/jogging route were also incorporated as part of the park’s outdoor offer. Paths throughout the park were widened to improve accessibility for all users. The works also focused on opening up views into the park from the corner of Princess Way and London Road. Boundary treatments were refreshed to enhance the park’s visual impact and strengthen its connection with the surrounding area. Buxton takes its responsibilities under the Considerate Constructors Scheme seriously, and the site team made practical efforts during the works to support local engagement and maintain a positive presence in the community. This project demonstrates Buxton’s ability to deliver high-quality public realm improvements, combining thoughtful planning and construction quality with a focus on community benefit and long-term value.
