Buxton delivered the refurbishment and remodelling of Ruspini House on behalf of the Masonic Charitable Foundation, as part of its wider property portfolio. The building is named after Bartholomew Ruspini, the 18th-century surgeon-dentist and Freemason who helped establish the charity that later became the Royal Masonic School for Girls in 1788. The existing building dates from the later 20th century. The project focused on adapting the structure for modern residential use. The scheme transformed the building into a collection of six apartments. Works involved reconfiguring internal layouts and forming a new communal entrance and circulation areas to improve access and movement throughout the building. A full internal fit-out was completed with a strong focus on quality and consistency. Bathrooms feature Philippe Starck-designed sanitaryware with anthracite brassware, while kitchens and bathrooms were fitted with Caesarstone worktops. Bespoke joinery was finished in Farrow & Ball neutral tones, selected to complement the interior scheme. The project demonstrates Buxton’s experience delivering residential refurbishment projects within busy urban environments.
