Buxton’s site team is coordinating works to minimise disruption to visitors and protect existing trees, habitats and pathways, with sequencing and access routes planned around seasonal visitor patterns and site constraints. Alongside construction, Buxton is delivering meaningful social value linked to the project. This includes volunteer activity at Winkworth Arboretum, supporting seasonal events and visitor experience, and partnership working with Community Wood Recycling to reuse recovered timber, reducing waste while creating training and employment opportunities through a local social enterprise. Winkworth Arboretum remains live on site and demonstrates Buxton’s experience in delivering bespoke visitor facilities within sensitive environmental settings, combining structural delivery, disciplined site management and a strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
