Social Value

Building more than structures, building lasting value

At Buxton Building Contractors, social value is not an add-on, it is an integral part of how we work.

Every project we deliver is an opportunity to support people, strengthen communities, grow local economies, and protect our environment.

Our commitment is simple: wherever we build, we leave a positive legacy that lasts far beyond construction.

Our Approach to the MACS Framework

We deliver social value through our four-pillar MACS framework, which guides every project and ensures meaningful, measurable outcomes.

M – Making a Difference

We support local communities through volunteering, charitable partnerships, in-kind support, and initiatives such as our Golden Day volunteering scheme.

A – Acting Responsibly

We embed ethical, sustainable business practices across procurement, supply chain management, carbon reduction, and wellbeing.

C – Creating Opportunity

We inspire, train, and support the next generation through apprenticeships, traineeships, work experience, early careers programmes, and pathways for those facing barriers to employment.

S – Supporting Communities

We work collaboratively with schools, charities, VCSE organisations, cultural groups, and local residents to enhance community wellbeing and resilience.

PPN 002 Social Value Model 2025

Buxton is fully aligned with the new PPN 002 Social Value Model, mandatory for all public sector contracts from 1 October 2025.

This ensures our social value approach is structured, measurable, and focused on:

  • Local economic prosperity

  • Inclusion, employment & skills

  • Health and community wellbeing

  • Environmental responsibility

  • Transparent reporting

Our processes, KPIs, and reporting systems are already aligned to PPN 002, ensuring readiness for future public-sector procurement requirements.
