Guildford Crematorium Rated “Outstanding” for Compassionate Care and Service Excellence

We are proud to share that Guildford Crematorium in Surrey has been officially rated “Outstanding” following a comprehensive inspection recognition that reflects both the quality of the facility and the compassionate service provided to families during difficult times.

The assessment, carried out by the Federation of Burial and Crematorium Authorities (FBCA), reviewed 145 aspects of service delivery. Guildford Crematorium achieved an exceptional overall score of 99.32%, with a perfect score in six out of seven categories.

Inspectors highlighted not only the high standards of the crematorium’s facilities including advanced digital services such as webcasting but also the care and sensitivity shown to bereaved families. Particular recognition was given to the thoughtful support offered to those experiencing the loss of a child, underlining the importance of dignity and compassion in every aspect of the service.

Guildford Borough Council also praised the team’s efforts. Julian Higson, Joint Strategic Director of Housing, Communities and Environment, commented that the report “reflects the care, dignity and professionalism our team brings every day.” He added that the recognition of the compassionate service provided to families is “particularly reassuring.”
