National Apprenticeship Week 2026 provided an opportunity to highlight the role apprentices play within Buxton and the contribution they make across live projects.

Throughout the week, we shared short reflections from our apprentices, each answering a simple question about their experience. Taken together, their responses highlight the value of learning on site, being part of a wider team, and developing practical skills in a real working environment.

Several themes came through clearly. Apprentices spoke about the importance of being supported by experienced colleagues, the benefit of working across different tasks and trades, and the confidence that comes from being trusted with responsibility. They also reflected on the variety of site work and the opportunity to see projects progress from early stages through to completion.

Apprenticeships remain an important part of how we develop people within the business. They provide a structured route into construction while allowing individuals to build experience in a live setting, alongside teams delivering complex and varied projects.

We are pleased to support National Apprenticeship Week 2026 and to recognise the contribution our apprentices make, not just this week, but throughout the year.
