Team Buxton Shines Through London 🌟
On Saturday night, Team Buxton completed the Cancer Research UK Shine Night Walk London Full Marathon, taking on 26.2 miles through the streets of the capital.
The route gave us a fantastic nighttime tour of London, passing Battersea Power Station, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Shakespeare's Globe, The Shard, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, Hyde Park and the Natural History Museum, amongst many other landmarks.
Flying the flag for Team Buxton were Becky Gould, Ben Pendrigh, Billy Hockton, Coral Bain, Emma Connolly, Harvey Hockton, Keith Hartley, Keith Tok, Mia Day, Natalie Hockton, Prince Higgins, Robson Walker, Sally McPhail, Sarah Hardy, Sheila Dance, Suzanne Clark, Emma Smart, Vanessa Tok and Vicky Gould.
A brilliant group effort from start to finish, not forgetting Louise Murphy and her daughter Megan for supporting the team through the night on The Mall 🌟
It was a fantastic experience, although there are certainly a few blisters, aching legs and people limping around the office today!
And 26.2 miles did not quite tell the whole story. Getting to the start, the occasional wrong turn and, worst of all, having to walk back to the car park afterwards meant some of the team covered considerably more. By the end of the night, it worked out at over 60,000 steps per person.
Most importantly, together we have raised over ÂŁ5,000 for Cancer Research UK.
