Apprenticeships
Building a skilled and motivated workforce starts with creating the right opportunities at an early stage. At Buxton, we are committed to supporting young people who want to build a career in construction through structured training and real-world experience.
We actively encourage school leavers and college students to join our apprenticeship programmes, providing them with practical skills, industry knowledge, and ongoing support to succeed in the workplace.
Our apprenticeships in Quantity Surveying, Site Management, and Estimating combine hands-on site experience with structured learning and professional mentoring, ensuring individuals develop both technically and personally.
This approach helps apprentices build confidence, competence, and a clear understanding of their chosen profession.
By investing in emerging talent, we are also strengthening the future of the construction industry.

Our Apprenticeship Programme
A Buxton apprenticeship offers a structured route into a long-term career in construction. Programmes can last up to five years, providing stability, recognised qualifications, and clear progression.
You will choose a career pathway in Quantity Surveying, Site Management, or Estimating, depending on your interests and strengths.
-
Quantity Surveyors manage project finances, controlling budgets, agreeing costs, and ensuring value for money.
-
Site Managers oversee day-to-day activity on site, coordinating trades, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring work meets programme and quality requirements.
-
Estimators work at pre-construction stage, reviewing drawings and specifications, obtaining supplier and subcontractor prices, and calculating the overall cost of a project.
Tuition fees for college or university are fully funded, allowing you to focus on learning without student debt. Alongside your studies, you will gain practical experience on live projects, supported by experienced colleagues who provide mentoring and guidance throughout your development.
The programme follows an earn-while-you-learn model. You gain recognised qualifications, earn a salary, and build real industry experience from day one.
Buxton supports apprentices at different stages of their training, reflecting our long-term commitment to developing talent and investing in the future of the construction industry.
