🏛️ A proud moment at Mecklenburgh Square, Bloomsbury.

The keys to 43–47 Mecklenburgh Square have now been handed over by our Managing Director, David Norman, to Goodenough College, marking the conclusion of our work on the refurbishment and restoration of these five Grade II listed Georgian townhouses.

Dating from 1824, the buildings form an important part of this historic London square. Our works have included extensive internal reconfiguration, upgrades to building services, fire safety and thermal performance, together with the careful repair and restoration of the historic fabric and Georgian façades.

The refurbished buildings will provide high-quality accommodation for 68 postgraduate students, giving these historic townhouses a renewed purpose while retaining their original character.

Delivering a complex refurbishment within a constrained central London location has required careful planning, skilled workmanship and close collaboration throughout. The project achieved an exceptional 45/45 Considerate Constructors Scheme score and went on to receive a Bronze Award at the CCS National Site Awards.

We are particularly pleased to see Goodenough College describe the project as being delivered to an excellent standard.

A big thank you to our client Goodenough College, MICA Architects, Greenwood Projects, HRW, MEP Consulting Engineers and all the consultants involved throughout the project.

Special recognition also goes to our own project team, led by Project Manager Ben Hayden, Building Services Manager Anthony Pickles and Site Manager Laurence Cracknell, together with everyone else at Buxton who has contributed throughout the project.
