Spring Reveals Mecklenburgh Square

The scaffold is now being struck at Mecklenburgh Square, revealing the Georgian façades once again and marking a significant milestone in the project.

Set within the historic Bloomsbury square, these five townhouses date from 1824 and form part of the Goodenough College estate. Over recent months our team has been carefully restoring and refurbishing numbers 43–47, bringing the buildings back into active use while respecting their heritage.

With the scaffold coming down just as the gardens begin to show the first signs of spring, there is a real sense of progress on site. The transformation is becoming visible and the character of the square is returning.

The completed buildings will provide accommodation for 68 postgraduate students from around the world, supporting Goodenough College’s international academic community in the heart of London.

The project has also been recognised through the Considerate Constructors Scheme, achieving a full score of 45 out of 45, reflecting the team’s focus on safety, quality and respect for the surrounding community.
