A Royal Visit to BDCH

HRH Prince Michael of Kent opened the newly refurbished 'Kent' building at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home today.

Following the successful completion of the Keens Yard project for BDCH, Buxton was delighted to have been awarded Prince Michael of Kent Building.

The works comprised of the complete remodeling, including the removal of the existing green pantiled roof and replacement with a black stained glulam timber-framed structure to house new mechanical plant equipment. Battersea Dogs and Cats Home have occupied the site for 142 years and are a very widely recognised and much-loved charity. In 2011 the home took in nearly 9000 animals, around half of which were strays. Typically, there are up to 300 dogs and 120 cats on the Battersea site at any one time.
