Today, our Contracts Manager, David Wood, celebrated the completion of the Hainault Forest restoration project at a special event hosted by Cllr Jas Athwal, leader of the London Borough of Redbridge. The £7m project, backed by the council, The Woodland Trust, Vision RCL, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Greater London Authority, and the Garfield Weston Foundation, holds a special place in our hearts at Buxton. We're delighted to have restored the Victorian barns and developed a new visitor hub, preserving the forest’s abundant history and natural beauty for future generations.
The barns, now workshops for local craftspeople, provide a vibrant platform for artisans and the community. A new visitor centre and event space, alongside an additional catering unit, enhance the visitor experience, immersing them in the forest's natural and historical wealth. Buxton, alongside Thomas Ford & Partners, Jon Sheaff, and Huntley Cartwright, is proud to contribute to Hainault Forest’s restoration, crafting spaces that will be cherished by visitors in the coming years.
