Progress at Hainault Ancient Forest

External works are due to commence at the new Hainault Ancient Forest visitor centre

London Borough of Redbridge has produced a fascinating video to showcase the development


Richard Rudd, the Buxton Project Manager, is interviewed and discusses some of the challenges of the project.


Buxton is refurbishing the existing Victorian barns and will create a new visitor hub to provide top-quality visitor facilities, including a new interactive interpretation & visitor centre, events facility, and an additional catering unit.


This ancient woodland is home to a wealth of wildlife and plant species and was once a royal hunting forest just a stone’s throw from London.


London Borough of Redbridge secured funding of £4.2m from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for the restoration of the forest to its former natural and wild state. The money is being spent to help threatened species thrive, including eleven species of bat
