The Pineapples awards for place 2026 has recognised excellence in placemaking once again, with twenty-six teams announced as winners of the coveted Golden Pineapple trophies for their contribution to people and place. Hosted at Trinity Buoy Wharf this week on 22nd April, the awards ceremony brought together over 400 professionals and judges to celebrate projects delivering meaningful social impact across communities.

Award-Winning Project: Farmstead Road, Lewisham

Buxton Building Contractors are proud to have delivered the award-winning Farmstead Road scheme in the London Borough of Lewisham, working as main contractor for Phoenix Community Housing alongside Metropolitan Workshop, Jubb, BPTW, Potter Raper, Etude, LUC and PJR. This project was a winner in the Healthy Homes category, supported by ROCKWOOL Limited.

Judges’ Citation

A beautiful Passivhaus development, with rare attention to detail inside and out, Farmstead Road impressed the judges on account of its family provision and Phoenix Housing Association’s commitment to community engagement. The result was evident: not only visually stunning, but clearly the absolutely pride of the people who live there, setting these homes up for powerful and effective stewardship for decades to come.

This recognition reflects the collaborative effort behind Farmstead Road and demonstrates Buxton Building’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes that create lasting value for residents and communities.
