Early morning at Scotney Castle
A moment of peace before the working day begins at our Scotney Castle project.
Our Project Manager, Ian Flannery, captured these fantastic skies early this morning, just before another busy day on site got underway.
We are working with the National Trust to deliver a new year-round visitor car park, together with new footpaths, drainage and associated landscaping. The works form part of the wider Reconnecting Scotney project, which aims to improve access across the estate while protecting and enhancing its historic landscape.
Good progress continues on site, with earthworks, ground stabilisation and drainage progressing, and base course tarmac now being laid as the new access and parking areas begin to take shape.
The new infrastructure will ultimately allow the existing car park to be removed, supporting plans to reinstate the historic orchard within Scotney's Walled Garden.
