World Environment Day is a reminder that sustainability is not a future ambition, it is a responsibility we act on today.
At Buxton Building Contractors, sustainability is embedded in how we design, procure and deliver our projects. From reducing carbon emissions and minimising waste to supporting biodiversity and embracing modern methods of construction, we are committed to creating a positive impact across the built environment.
This summer, we are building on that commitment with our Summer of Sustainability campaign, encouraging everyone across the business to play their part.
Over the coming months, our teams will:
Support environmental initiatives through the YuLife app, including tree planting and ocean conservation.
Complete learning through the Supply Chain Sustainability School to strengthen industry knowledge and best practice.
Take part in local community activities such as litter picking.
Attend toolbox talks focused on waste reduction, recycling and responsible site practices.
Follow the progress of our Passivhaus project, showcasing how off-site construction and innovative design can reduce waste and improve performance.
Individually, these actions may seem small, but together, they make a meaningful difference.
As we continue working towards our carbon reduction targets, we know that real progress comes from the everyday actions of our people, supported by innovation, collaboration and shared responsibility.
We look forward to sharing updates throughout the summer and celebrating the positive impact being made across our projects, teams and communities.
Together, we are building a more sustainable future.
