Mental Health Awareness Week runs from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th May, and this year’s theme is Community.
At Buxton, we understand how important it is to feel part of something – whether that’s a neighbourhood, a workplace, or a wider support network. Strong communities help us feel connected, supported and remind us we’re not alone.
We’ll be marking the week with a series of activities across our offices and sites to raise awareness and support mental health charities. Here’s what’s planned:
Monday 12th May
An introduction to mental health and a reminder of who our Mental Health First Aiders and Responders are.
Tuesday 13th May
Information about our Employee Assistance Programme and other support services available to all staff.
Wednesday 14th May
A well-being breakfast to start the day right – with fruits, pastries and juice provided at all sites and offices.
Thursday 15th May – Wear It Green Day
We’re encouraging everyone to wear something green and donate £2 in support of mental health charities. Photos welcome, especially from our site teams!
Friday 16th May
A look back at how Buxton has been helping in the community, and a reminder to share those stories with our marketing team.
We’ll also be running a light-hearted competition to help everyone get involved and celebrate the things that lift us up. The winning entry will receive £50, with a matching donation going to a mental health charity.
These activities are a small but important way for us to show support, raise awareness, and continue building positive connections across our teams and the wider community.
Keep an eye on our social channels for updates throughout the week.
