Dare to Dream Programme

Buxton Building Contractors is proud to have supported the Dare to Dream mentoring programme, delivered in partnership with Lewes District Council and the Love Local Jobs Foundation.
Over the course of four months, five Buxton volunteers dedicated their time to mentoring 15 students from Seahaven Academy. Through one-to-one mentoring, our team supported students to build essential life skills such as confidence, resilience and self-belief, helping them feel more prepared and positive about their futures.
As part of the programme, students were invited to visit our Newhaven Health Hub site, giving them a valuable, real world insight into a live construction environment. This hands-on experience was followed by engaging group activities, including a bridge-building challenge and team exercises back at Buxton, designed to strengthen collaboration, problem-solving and communication skills.
We are incredibly proud of the impact this programme has had and of the commitment shown by our volunteers. The evidence is clear in the student quotes and stats that it had a meaningful impact. A massive thank you to everyone at the Love Local Jobs Foundation for creating and facilitating an amazing programme, funded by Lewes District Council.
