Empowering Newham Residents Through Pre-Employment Training

In November, we were proud to deliver a Pre-Employment and Introduction to Construction session for 14 residents at Your Place, a residential accommodation service for people experiencing homelessness in Newham.

Delivered in partnership with Our Newham, the session focused on supporting those furthest from the workforce with the tools, confidence and guidance needed to take their next steps towards employment.

Participants took part in:

✔ Career mapping and exploring pathways into construction

✔ CV development and interview preparation

✔ Practical insight into roles and expectations on site

✔ Conversations around future opportunities with Buxton and our supply chain

This programme forms part of Buxton’s social value commitments to Newham Council through our upcoming project at Lady Helen Seymour House, where we are committed to creating opportunities that genuinely change lives.
