We are nearing completion of the new visitor facilities within the National Trust site near Godalming, including a welcome building, café, shop and associated access improvements.

As part of the works, and working with Community Wood Recycling, 10 tonnes of wood waste have been diverted from landfill for reuse or recycling.

Community Wood Recycling is a network of social enterprises that collects surplus timber and redistributes it for reuse, while recycling the remainder. It keeps material in use and supports local employment and training.

This is applied across our projects, with timber separated on site and directed into reuse streams wherever possible.

Good to see this approach becoming more common across the industry.

If others are doing similar, interested to hear how you are managing timber waste on your sites.
