Press release from Guildford Borough Council
A major milestone in the rebuild of Guildford Crematorium was reached this week as we held a 'topping out' ceremony to mark the completion of the new roof on the main chapel building.
The project is due for completion in November this year. The Crematorium and associated buildings have been completely redesigned and rebuilt to provide a site which meets the needs of today's residents.
Cllr Pauline Searle, Lead Councillor for Arts, Parks and Countryside says: "It's really great to see the new buildings almost complete with the addition of the new roof. We are on track to open in November as planned, providing a peaceful environment in which families can mark the passing of a loved one."
In addition to the main Crematorium, a Flower Room, Book of Remembrance Room, reflective pool, landscaping and new car parking all form part of the site.
